I am currently running PHP 7.0.33 on my server with MySQL and I would like to update to 7.4 and any future PHP updates. When I tried to update on my Plesk Control Panel the Open Cart dashboard and front end got scrambled (See attachment for what happened to the Open Cart dashboard). The server administrator said this seems to be due to a coding error in Open cart. The project is to find and fix the coding in my two Open Cart stores. My stores work with the Journal extension and a great deal of custom work to modify the appearance of the front end, so the Open Cart code will not be plain vanilla and the stores are generally subject to a instability. I am concerned about irreversible damage if the this problem is not fixed correctly. For this reason I will only work with an Open cart developer who agrees to the following conditions:
1) The developer must have his/her own test server to do the diagnosis and repairs. I will not in the first instance give password access to my own server. Rather, I will send the httpdocs folders of the two stores so the developer can open them up on his/her test server.
2) Once the developer has found the fix on a test server I will give access to an recent version of the stores on a a different host to which the DNS for my domains does not point. In order to work on these inactive stores, the developer must be willing to add lines to his/her host files on a local computer. I will not create a temporary domain for that purpose.
3) Once the stores function properly on the inactive stores, I will give password access to my live store to complete the project.
