We have just finished the web design and html for an Art Gallery Web site and the client requires a back-end PHP software solution for the artist/artwork management.
Please visit [url removed, login to view] and see the current admin panel we have designed in html, it doesn't do anything yet - that's where you come in.
In short we need people to be able to add artists (and then artworks to each artist) in the admin panel (which saves them to a database). The admin panel front page needs to show these artists and artworks so we can either edit or delete them.
The main purpose of this exercise however is for this information to be displayed on the web site for the general public.
If you have a look at [url removed, login to view] you'll see all the artist alphabetically listed - this is what the 'add an artist' part of the admin panel needs to create. It should automatically add the artist to their corresponding last name letter. So if I were to add an artist it asks me for the artists name, an image for the artist, the artist code, and artist profile. Once i've filled out this information we need a script to add it to this page then automatically make a folder named with the artist code, and put a profile page inside that folder. For an example of the profile page see Anna Choi's at [url removed, login to view]
THe next part of the website is the artworks. Go back to the admin panel at [url removed, login to view] and click on Add an artwork. Now the artwork should reference to an artist depending on what artist code they enter up the top there. So once you've added an artwork it should show on the admin home under the artists name.
When it comes to the actual web site the artwork should be under the artist profile on the right hand side. See Anna choi's profile once again [url removed, login to view] for the examples on the right. Not only should it add the artwork thumbnail to the right, the viewer also should be able to click that thumbnail and be shown a popup with the other artwork information.
Ignore the exhibitions icon in the admin panel, it's a future function we'll add later. The change password icon is straight forward. We won't be having multiple users one universal password should be good enough.
When adding an artwork or artist to the database it should be reffered to by the code it was given when adding it.
The time frame you give us needs to be adhered to as we will be passing this information onto the client and we'll need to stick to it.
Our design for everything has already been signed off so you need to stick to it, this job is purely for the back end to link it all up.
