The purpose of this proposed system is to develop an Electronic Voting system (EVS) that is user friendly, easy to comprehend and most especially used to maximally reduce electoral fraud which has eaten deep in the electoral system in Nigeria. The intended reception of this proposed system is the potential end users.
This proposed system will be a standalone system and not part of a larger system. The system will be made up of 5 different modules: the registration process module, the ballot design module, the admin module, the voter’s module and the result module. This project highlights an advanced method for voting process where the device communicates with the Biometrics using a fingerprint scanner. When the biometrics of the voter is taken, his/her data is being cross checked for pre-registration and verification of their polling unit in the system if they are registered or not and if they are in the right polling unit. After all checks are done and the voter is eligible to vote in that polling unit, the system generates a One-time password (OTP) which is sent to the voter’s phone number which would have been pre-registered in the system or database during voter’s registration. The voter inserts the password and if the password is confirmed then the person can vote, and this process is repeated for every person that is registered.
