A modular website template and an admin interface for customizing it.
Code must be commented to accommodate future development work.
The system needs features to accommodate responsive design - the admin interface needs features for the creation of any number of 'layouts' set to be active within certain browser resolution ranges.
It needs the ability for content to load dynamically into parts of the site, without reloading the page.
Modules required (things which can be created, customized or duplicated in the admin panel):
Pages (other objects\modules can be placed on a page)
Menus - heirarchical dropdown\pop-out menus made of text or images, with numerous customizable layouts and visual effects, such as mouse-over color changes, fades, animated drop-down, etc.
Galleries - galleries of images which link to different content. The images used need to be able to be automatically cropped to various tesselated shapes (such as triangles), probably by using the html5 canvas. Mouse-over effects etc.
Blogs\news feeds, blog\news posts
Comment threads (I am open to integrating an existing comments system such as disqus)
Media player with a customizable playlist - As the user navigates the website they need to be able to click 'add to playlist links', which will add the song or video in question into the on-site media player's playlist. The user needs to be able to click and drag items in the playlist to change their order. The media player needs to be able to stay docked on the website and continue playing (generally in a corner) as the user navigates around the site.
The media player and playlist must be capable of using media from soundcloud (soundcloud API integration), bandcamp, youtube and vimeo, as well as audio and video media hosted on the website's server.
Information panels (boxes which can display different text depending on what the user hovers the mouse over, for instance gallery items, menu items, images, links)
We need to be able to integrate webgl content (shadertoy?), with the possibility to swap out the content for images, flash or other media where webgl isn't supported.
That more or less sums it up. Please only respond if you have done work of this scale before and are confident that you can create a rock-solid system.
