HARMONIA is an EU-funded project (Horizon 2020) aiming to unite all relevant stakeholders around the issue of Climate Change (CC), allowing them not only to understand its impact on local environments but also, through the proposed technological tool, to concretely visualise it.
HARMONIA will leverage existing tools, services and novel technologies to develop an integrated resilience assessment platform for urban areas. Satellite and auxiliary data available from a variety of platforms (GEOSS, DIAS, urban TEP, GEP etc.) will be consolidated to support CC mitigation and adaptation measures from the bottom-up (from local level to national and EU level). It also seeks to engage with the Group on Earth Observation (GEO) and its European equivalent (EuroGeo).
The HARMONIA project draws on the main components of the EU Space programme, notably Copernicus, Galileo and EGNOS. Communicating HARMONIA as the arranger of these sources of raw data is key to pass to the message that CC can be understood and visualized by any interested stakeholder, without resorting to various and sometimes expensive data processing systems.
