Hi, I need some help with 1 page on my Wix website please. Its a simple fix for 1 feature that i need help with and isnt part of the drag & drop templates in Wix so cant do myself.
so its a clothing product page. each product pulls its data from a database/dataset and is displayed as a gallery. i cant display it as a normal product store because im not selling them products, they are all affiliate links to buy elsewhere which is why i need to show the products as part of a gallery.
So on this clothing page, at the top there are a set of filters that users can select. for example if they click 'shoes' then only the shoes show up in the gallery, if they click 'leggings' then the gallery changes and only displays leggings. and if they click multiple options/filters, like 'Menswear + Shoes' one at a time, the gallery keeps filtering down the results in the gallery based on what filters the user selects from the few dropdown lists at the top of the page.
So at first load it shows all products in the gallery. then the user can select whatever filter(s) they want on the page from the dropdown filters, and the gallery responds by only displaying those items selected by the user from the dataset...
So here is the current page that is currently being built (its not finished yet and the dataset is still being populated): [login to view URL]
you can see the 4 columns that have options underneath them (the 5th column 'sort' already works as desired), this is the area that i need some help on. currently those are buttons that dont do anything, i want them to filter the product results below once they are clicked. It can be buttons, check boxes, dropdown boxes - the display on the front end is irrelevant right now.
once each option gets clicked, the dataset of products underneath will respond by only showing those products that are relevant to the user options selected.
For example - see this page on ASOS clothing site - the dropdown boxes - when each option is selected, the product options below react and change to show only those that match what the user selected: [login to view URL]|clothing|shop+by+product
you can also see on the asos filters that the user can select multiple filter options and the products below update each time to reflect ALL filters that have been selected.
let me know what you think
