We have developed software(script) in PHP to identify the browser and particularly cellphone browsers. It provides the web server with information on the Mobile device's capabilities such as screen width, flash version (if any) maximum page size(Kb) etc..
What we need is a plugin for Drupal that chooses a specific template depending on the above mentioned variables.
What we have today is 6 different “sites”. (1)One normal for regular computers, (2)one for old phones(wap 1.1), (3)small phones (xhtml_mp and screen width smaller than 128px), (4)phones with screen resolution btwn 128px and 240px, (5) phones with larger display han 240 and (6)iPhones.
Depending on development difficulty do we want all modules selected on the normal web page to show on the mobile. We do understand that module limitations is required but still want this plugin to be as transparent as possible. Let's discuss this further
At this stage do we first ask you to write a plugin that simply identifies the size of the screen and shows 2 different pages depending on that variable. Our software do not redirect the browser depending on the variables but chooses to include different layout-files.
We look at this as a pilot-project. If it goes well, more work is to be expected.
