I run a popular YouTube channel that gets a lot of comments on every video. The tools provided by YouTube are too slow to stay on top of all the videos, so I'd like to build something custom that lets me respond to comments more quickly, ideally through the commandline and with hotkeys.
Use a YouTube API key to download comments from my videos to my local computer.
- download and store YouTube comments in a local database
- allow me to see how many unanswered comments there are for each video and in total
- allow me to see unanswered comments on any video
- Allow me to reply in the command line quickly, using hotkeys, without having to pick my hands up from the keyboard
My preference would be commandline, but I would also be fine with a rudimentary HTML application as long as it can be all controlled from the keyboard.
This library seems to incorporate a lot of the downloading functionality, so that would be a good start:

Hi sir, I worked with Google and Youtube APIs before for commenting and retrieving likes. I made a full tool for showing specific insights to the user on Youtube. Let me know if I can help you.
Hello ! I would be more than happy to code such a tool for you, I have already worked on a similar project because, except it wasn't in the CLI. Feel free to reach out to me so we can discuss more about it ! Regards
