I have two websites that correlate to my two main books. Both ask a series of randomised questions about the book, proving that at least the person has a copy of the book before they will receive a download link for the accompanying tools and templates. The structure and back end of both sites are identical.
Gmail appears to be rejecting those emails. There are no bounces and Gmail users are not receiving the download link emails in their inboxes or spam. This appears to be an issue with how the emails are structured, but after troubleshooting, I really don't know. There is more on this link:
[url removed, login to view]
=> This is not bulk email. Each email is unique, sent only once, and we send only a few per day. (Books are very niche business books.)
=> Each site only uses one "from" address, but they are different from each other.
=> They both use the same mailserver, which is the same as all of the emails from my main business site. I do have the ability to create different nameservers, if that helps.
=> Other email sent from my main business website on the server (and using the same mailserver) go through to Gmail just fine. Note, I don't send mail from that server for my main website often - maybe a few times a month from the webmail interface when I'm travelling.
=> I have tested the two email addresses used for the two book download emails - sending mail to my Gmail address from the webmail interface (same mailserver and IP as the automated emails would use). They went through fine.
I require someone with specific expertise in structuring automated emails so that Gmail doesn't reject them.
I can provide CMS and FTP access to both websites. I will provide you with an ebook version of one of the books, so that you can answer the quiz and test the automated emailing to Gmail.
I will provide links to the two websites, so you can have a quick look prior to quoting.
I am a refugee from Elance. I hired for 186 jobs since 2007, with an 83% hire rate and very high ratings from freelancers. I really hate Odesk and won't migrate to there.
Unless you address the specific project requirements and outline your experience with automated emails and Gmail requirements, I won't hire you.
AGAIN... I WILL NOT HIRE ANYONE WHO JUST POSTS A BUNCH OF GENERIC CRAP ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE. I NEED SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND YOU NEED TO ADDRESS THAT!!!!!
