Freelance Web Developer with PHP and Typescript Knowledge

Job Description:
We are seeking a Freelance Web Developer with PHP and Typescript knowledge to work on a variety of projects including three websites built on PHP and three WordPress sites.
Please include a link to your GitHub or relevant code samples in your application.
The ideal candidate should have a willingness to learn, be a team player, and be able to work remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain websites built with PHP, WordPress and/or NextJS
- Take briefs from the team (such as Figma mockups) and turn them into reality
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Design and implement website layouts, user interfaces, and user experiences
- Debug and troubleshoot issues and bugs in existing websites
- Communicate effectively with the wider team
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of PHP programming and WordPress development
- Experience with Typescript and its associated tools and frameworks (React, Vue.JS or similar) is a big bonus
- Willingness to learn and work with new technologies
- Ability to write clean and maintainable code
- Familiarity with database design and SQL queries
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in a remote environment is a plus
About the team
This role will be for the Owned Sites team @ Wise.
Our focus is on acquiring new customers and driving revenue through a portfolio of websites outside of Wise.com.
Examples of these sites are [login to view URL], [login to view URL] and Exiap.com.
Exiap, a transparent international money transfer comparison website, is a good illustration of what we do. When a user goes to Exiap, they can dynamically search the currencies and amounts they are interested in, and Exiap will return provider's fees (powered by API connections) so that the customer can choose the best result.
The team is made up of 6 full time Wise employees with a mix of technical ability, and a senior full stack freelance developer that plays an integral role in the team's mission.
