Right now we have affiliates who use tracking codes for our website like this:
[url removed, login to view] where as the XXXXXX is different for every affiliate. Each affiliate get’s their own unique 6 digit code to use to promote our website. So if an affiliates code is 224455, they will replace the link to look like this: [url removed, login to view]
When someone clicks their affiliate link, they are taken to our website, and if a purchase is made, the affiliate 224455 will receive a commission. (or whatever their affiliate code is)
We host the banners for our affiliates, and they would just need to change out the 6 digit code to their own. Herein lies my question. Right now we are using HTML5 banners for the affiliates. How can we easily add the affiliates 6 digit affiliate code to the HTML5 banners on the fly? (without having to edit each banner with the hard coded link?) With regular .jpg banners that we host for affiliates and using html , we would normally just use the html code:
<a href="[url removed, login to view]”><img src="http://ourdomainname/banner/[url removed, login to view]" width="300" height="250" ></a>
Since we are hosting the banner, the affiliate would just need to replace XXXXXX with their 6 digit code. But with HTML5 banners, this doesn’t work because the linking code is already in the banners. Is there a way we can easily swap out the affiliate linking code for HTML5 banners? Are there any ways to go about doing this? Maybe put in a clear image over the html5 banner and link up the clear image to the affiliate URL? Are there any wordpress plugins that can handle this? Are there any programs that can host an html5 banner that can change the coding out?
I need someone who has experience in this and can get a solution done quickly (within 1-2 day). Willing to pay for a solution, even if that’s just your advice on how to go about doing this.
