My client has a Joomla 2.5 website with a custom Component and Custom Search module functions.
The search module accepts a Post Code (zip code) from the user and fetches locations from the Component and uses Google Maps API to determine distances of all locations from the users location. It usually then lists all locations in ascending order based on Distance from the users location (closest to furthest away).
Something happened recently, which stopped the site making api calls to Google Maps. At that point, the search results began listing in alphabetical order disregarding the distance.
We have re-enabled the api calls and distances are again being calculated and listed in the results which are displayed in a paginated format. (20 per page).
The problem now, is that the site is returning the results in alphabetical order, but then orders results on each page by distance.
This means that on page 1 of the results, all locations start with "A" but are ordered from closest to furthest away. HOWEVER results on higher pages are often closer than some of the results on page 1.
I need someone to correct the ordering of the search results ASAP.
I will supply all access details and my skype ID to the chosen freelancer upon selection.
