Our new ecommerce website is almost completed. The shopping cart is Shop-Script Premium which is php and smarty template based.
Some customization work has been done, but the current designers don't have the time or resources to complete this part of the development.
The cart will track inventory for a product. When inventory is zero, the cart won't allow the customer to add the product to the cart or checkout with more than is in stock.
The problem is the inventory is not controlled at an attribute level. For example, the product may be a T-shirt, but there could be 4 colours (which can be configured and shows a drop down box in the product detail page). Currently I can't enter an inventory of 2 under each colour...only the total inventory of the product. This is a problem since we carry low stock, and if a customer purchases a blue item, the inventory will be reduced by one, but there is nothing stopping the next customer from purchasing a blue item even if there are no more blue in stock.
What I need is the ability to enter and track the inventory by the attributes. So for the T-Shirt example, if I have 1 blue, 2 red, and 3 green I should be able to enter stock for each in the admin->product setup area and if someone buys the single blue one, that blue option should no longer show up in the dropdown box as an option to buy (until such time that I add more blue ones to the inventory). Additionally, some products will have 2 or more different attributes. So the T-shirt might have three sizes as well as three colours. So I would need to track the inventory on basically the 9 seperate items now. Small/blue, Med./blue, Lrg/Blue, Small/red, Med./red, Lrg/red, Small/green, Med./green, Lrg/green.
I have tried the demo of X-Cart in the past and it has the feature I'm looking for. When a product is created, each time an attribute is added, every possible combination creates a seperate "sub" item for the inventory tracking.
I need someone who is familiar with Shop-Script who can do this fairly quickly. I expect the current developers to be completed the site in the next week or so and want to launch the new site as soon as possible so please include a completion time with your bid, along with any samples of ecommerce (specifically shop-script) sites you have worked on.
I'm also looking for someone who, if this job goes well, can be available for other improvements/upgrades to the site on an ongoing basis.
