I want to create a full web based inventory & sales system.
HERE ARE SOME BASIC SPECS:
Stock levels: [in stock, reserved, in stock but discontinued, on order, out of stock] Items are reserved right after placed on order (not after order is saved). All inventory should be live. Order (cart) should be saved so if system goes down it is not lost.
Order entry screen: User friendly screen for sales order entry [customer info- item lines= code, desc., qty, price, sale price, stock] print order after completed
Upsell & kitting: when entered line item if there are up-sell items (accessories), it should pop-up screen with the items (if main item is removed it should warn about sub items). Kits are 1 item code that pulls many items from inventory on to the order.
POS interface: User friendly touch screen with images capability. Should warn if item is reserved and no on-hand with ability to override with Password and ability to view stock status on item (if discontinued or on-order etc.)
Back orders & partial order shipping:
Customer info & balances:
Purchase orders & Vendor info
Label printing: internal or external software
Print pick lists (page break by bin location), invoices, packing slips
Item #: should have the abibity to set up by Category prefix then seq. # ( ex: AP209) it should auto create the # when assigning category.
Reports: connect with crystal reports or built in report system
Matrix for color size etc when same item# for all sizes but different upc # (to keep inventory for each color and size)
Multiple UPC# per item by vendors
Multiple venders and vender part # per item
Multiple short descriptions per item and 1 long descriptions
Item manufacture field
10 price levels per item (for groups or wholesale etc.)
Item costs by vender and average cost. Option to put minimum margin % to give warning if priced below margin.
Item options (colors or sizes with same item # and UPC
