php, phpmailer help needed to problem solve.

on the [login to view URL] page we a have a list of Email address that are used to log into the system. the page checks if the email is on the list and then emails them a password. The issue we are having is that we are getting an warning saying unable to login successfully even though the name is on the list. most of the email address login correctly, but some cannot at all, even though they are on the list. for example I can login by using my hotmail email address but another users hotmail email address can not log in? the same is for gmail. its strange. we have not had this issue before - help needed.
