This is similar to a recent small project in this php section.
I have been working on a simple system in php which allows users to upload one or more pictures (jpeg, gif, etc) to create a gallery while constructing a quoteation request for graphic based work.
Once the picture has been uploaded a thumbnail is created using ImageMagick php extensions and then displayed on the page and the user can then upload more images.
What I want is to emulate the behaviour of this webpage which I came across while browsing getafreelancer jobs - it offers a good solution and I dont know how to do it :
[url removed, login to view];EventEndYear=2008&SelectedLeafCat=SelectedLeafCat&EventStartSecond=3&EventStartMinute=0&EventEndDay=17&EventStartMonth=0&EventEndMinute=59&EventEndSecond=3&EventStartDay=17&CatId=116&EventStartHour=0&EventStartYear=2008&EventEndHour=23
This allows the user to select the image and once they click 'open' it will automatically upload and the thumbnail appears immediately without a full page reload. This is the kind of behaviour I am looking for.
The kijiji system also shows an 'Image Uploading.........' dialog on the page where more dots appear as the upload progresses - this gives the user confidence that the upload is working correctly whereas the default behaviour for php uploads is not very user friendly.
The thumbnail images should appear horizontally - I am sure this is a neglible difference.
Please use imagemagick libraries to create thumbnails
I would like to have someone make me a basic system that works and I will then add this into my own php programs.
It should be easy for me to set variables inside the program code which allow me to change the names of the uploaded file and the thumbnail that is created.
I also want to be able to set a directory where the images (large and small) will be stored on the hard drive although I can add this into my code myself as long as the basic functionality is there.
I need this fast which is why I am using getafreelancer instead of learning how it's done and then coding it myself.
Payment by paypal, I will not send wires or western union transfers to anyone due to the high cost of sending from the UK.
