We need a PHP programmer. We work with version 4.8.3
Your assignment will be on / off without any guarantee about the number of hours. Some weeks 30 hours, then months go by without any request. As you can see, I am not going to sugar-coat this in any way.
Since a lot of code refers via short abreviations to the HTML in a way that makes sense to people speaking Dutch, it would be a great asset if you would speak (or at least be able to read) Dutch. Forget about Google Translate, that will not help you out getting from "goukl" to "gouden klant" to golden customer. Gouden klant will be translated perferctly well, but you have to undertand Dutch to go from GouKL naar 'gouden klant'. (Dus, als je Nederlands spreekt, reageer!)
We employ a PHP app and due to illness, the chief programmer cannot work on the app any longer. You will ‘inherit’ the app, which has hardly any documentation at all. It is not a big app, and I can inform you at least on the higher levels, about the inner workings.
Since you have no clue what you are taking up, you can invoice us on an hourly basis.
We tend to do a lot of work outside the regular business hours. There is no testing system in place (yet). Your second task might be to build one, we have spare capacity enough on other servers that do not have any operational purpose (so those servers will not get in the way of the primary processes of our clients.
It’s really handy if you are experienced with DirectAdmin, since that will be the main way to access the PHP environment. PHP wise, we run version 4.8.3.
Future work will include to set up a test environment and to upgrade in a sensible way to higher versions of PHP. Also, we will ask you to ‘lecture’ us a bit about PHP in general. If you are really familiar with it….yes the app needs to be converted to something that works smoothly on a smartphone too. But that is not our first, nor second priority.
And for all you 'clever' people; do not contact me on LinkedIn please, do not contact me via Skype please, freelancer.com is the medium along which we will interact, at least as long as you have not been awarded the assignment.
