SW-house from Italy, here. We deal mostly with financial software.
Looking to outsource in the coming months several projects - initially tiny-ish mostly to know each other, then potentially some bigger ones.
At this stage it's mostly vb6 /mssql/mdb stuff (with other upcoming projects in PHP/mysql - in fact you caught my attention because you posted both vb6 and php skills)
You would count on well-scoped, well-defined projects. Your contacts would be developers themselves, who know very well what they are doing / what they need, and basically scaling what they would otherwise code themselves.
Think of stuff, to begin with, like: "Need a script that automates the export of this bunch of tables of format X into some other format Y, here's the table samples, here's the validations tools, here's the code-style guidelines and whatnot. We use mantis as bug-tracker. "
For the newer stuff, you'd deal with gitlab repositories. However, for any legacy stuff in vb6 (i.e. what we need now), you'd essentially deal with much more basic methods (essentially: "here's attached a zip with what you requested....")
How does it sound? And how fresh is your vb6? :-)
