I'm offering freelance voice-over services. My current website was created 10 years ago when blogging was my primary purpose and there was a "kitchen sink" mentality toward putting everything on a website. I want to create a simple, attractive site where potential clients can hear samples of my voiceover work.
After reviewing some other voice actor websites, looking at WordPress templates, I came up with these thoughts:
1) Because my primary goal for this site is as a landing page for potential customers for my voice acting skills, I think we need to keep it really simple and uncluttered. The goal of my original site was to showcase many different aspects of my portfolio but that seems to be a very outdated concept.
2) First impressions: Headshot, short written introduction, contact info (phone, email, delivery method (mp3, wav, overnight)
3) Audio samples: Narrative demo (Industrials, Training), Audiobook Demo, Commercial Demo.
4) Call to action. "Let's Work Together!" button leads to Contact Form
I've narrowed my free WordPress template choice to Zerif Lite. Not looking for anything fancy. The simpler the better. Also, not sure how many people will be using their smartphone to check out voice over talent but it's worth considering.
Pastel colors seem to be hot right now on websites but I thought it might be a good idea to make a statement about my energy and vitality using bolder colors: Palace Blue, Cherry Tomato, Meadowlark, Sailor Blue, Ultraviolet (Colors based on Pantone London Spring 2018). So, essentially, primary colors.
