Website needs troubleshoot and fixing 2 issues

An existing website has the following too issues and needs immediate fixing.
1. After user creates account and signs it, they are assigned Gender Male by default. Needs to be neutral so user can choose from profile settings.
2. In Edit profile, when selects nationality it still does not validate that the user has selected nationality and keeps asking to do so.
3. Email notifications are custom designed but images not showing when sent to user.
It is important to select nationality then only will users profile appear on the website and they can apply for jobs o the site.
