I have more than 5000 folders, in each of which there are three tab files. Each folder represents a company, and each company has three tab files: comments, fullstats, and statsperday. I need a program (VBA or something like that) to automatically grab tab files from each folder and append them together by their types. Not only that, I need the folder's name to be included in each data as a separate column. For example, the first folder contains data for a company called 2 K WEB GROUP, its comments data should be appended with other comments data in other folders, so should fullstats and statsperday data. And 2 K WEB GROUP needs to be the first column of the appended data.
Final outcome will be three Excel files: comments_all, fullstats_all, and statsperday_all, each of them contains data from all 5740 folders in that type.
