I need a java application that computes inclination and direction angles from orthogonal vector measurements. I will provide an excel template with the data format for which to compute the inclination and direction. I will also provide the formulas to be used in the computation. The application should have the ability to read the input excel file for any number of measurements and output the corresponding computations in an output excel or text file.
Data given by input file will be variables Gx, Gy, Gz, Bx, By, and Bz. These are measurements from accelerometers and magnetometers. The inclination calculation is ArcCos[Gz/(Gx^2+Gy^2+Gz^2)^(1/2)] and direction calculation (or azimuth) is ArcTan( (gTotal*(gx*by - gy*bx)) / (bz*(gx^2+gy^2) - gz*(gx*bx+gy*by)) ) where gTotal = (Gx^2+Gy^2+Gz^2)^(1/2).
I have experience reading excel files and writing to them as well. I have programmed the algorithms for physics-related models and simulations as well. I can have it done by today.
