Hi!
I'm a UX designer at Google, and I want to develop a project outside of work. I have two apps I'd like to develop (iOS and Android), but the first is called "Social Puppy."
My son came up with the idea as we were planning for our new dog.
The concept is simple. When you get a new puppy or dog, trainers suggest your socialize your dog by introducing him/her to over 100 people in the first 8 weeks of life, and then another 100 people by age 16 weeks. That's a lot to keep track of! And most people get tired of counting.
In my app, meeting people would be fun for you and your pet! A modal would tell you to go to a dog-friendly place where people congregate - like a pet store or a pet-friendly mall. When you get there, you introduce your dog to someone, feed him/her a treat (the dog, not the new person!), then either snap a photo of the person with your dog, or tick a box to check that person off the list. Additionally, trainers recommend that the new puppy be exposed to people with hats, beards, children, tall people, etc. When the person your puppy has met has one of those attributes, you'll be able to tick it off on the next screen.
There will be other sections as well - socializing the dog to sounds, different textures under their feet, and different types of weather.
What can be a really tedious part of getting a new pet is now fun, exciting, and feels like a game.
I'd love to partner with someone who can help me get this coded - the whole idea was my son's, and because I'm a UX designer, I'm happy to provide you with mocks, content, and direction so the process moves smoothly.
Awesome! Can't wait to hear from you.
