I am considering using our IT equipment to host virtual desktops for people. However, I have very limited knowledge when it comes to researching license fees and associated software costs in relation to setting up virtual hosts.
Therefore I would like you to prepare a report on the following:
* A list (with associated sources) on what software would be required to launch virtual hosted desktops, including minimum license requirements for each software product and associated pricing in ? (software I would like to use is VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft Office and Exchange + anything else you think would be a basic requirement).
* Some basic advise on what should be taken into consideration when setting up the service (such as discounts on volume licenses, whether management software should be installed, a basic topology diagram of how a completed network should look in terms of software, etc) + any materials on the web you could point me to that would help in setting this up.
