I've just completed the second draft of my second novel. I am looking for a fresh read with grammar, spelling and punctuation editing as needed. I am also looking for a fresh set of eyes to look at this manuscript to see where I may have a character hanging, or some sort of conflict with different parts of the book.
You should speak English fluently and have some proven skills with editing. If you have published something in the past, you will receive special consideration. The story is about a professional golfer so you can also get special consideration if you know and understand the game of golf.
I am willing to pay a fair amount, depending upon your experience.
My novel is about a golfer that has developed Alzheimer's. If you recall the movie Tin Cup, my story begins when that one ends. This golfer blows the lead in one of the US Open tournaments but lands a great job at a country club near San Antonio. He is very successful and he and his wife have one son. Unfortunately, he develops Alzheimer's around the age of 56 and has to leave the club. His son moves back in the house to help care for him but learns that his father can still play fantastic golf. The main character is Charlie Caldwell and though Charlie can still play outstanding golf, he has no idea how far each club goes or what he scored on the previous hole. Eventually, Charlie qualifies for the US Senior Open and he and his son travel to upstate New York to participate. There are many events concerning Alzheimer's and golf. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry and some will leave you with your mouth opened.
If you think you qualify and are interested, please respond.
