Countdowntimer on Raspberry Pi

I study Computer Science at University, this means I do a great deal of Python programing. I also own several raspberry pis, I have written several scripts udiyng python for them. So I honestly think that it should be quite easy and fast.

Hi there. I have worked with raspberry pi a lot. I build robots for fun and competitions and so I have a really good idea of how to do what you want. I expect it shouldn't take more than a couple days. I have a raspberry pi myself and a bunch of buttons and leds, so I will be able to test most of the code at my end, however, I will need your help to test the LCD. I can either send you the code and you can run it yourself, or I can access your machine using teamviewer and do it myself. Let me know if you'd like me to work on it.

I have done similar display projects on raspberry PIs before, when an event occurs e.g the count down completes the program will interact with the Raspberry PI GPIO pins to switch on an LE. I would propose using a simple html5 app to display the count down which would automatically load when the PI starts. The html5 app will look professional and can be customised to your requirements. Interaction with the GPIO pins for the LEDs will be achieved using python scripts. I would really like to help you on this project, I have been a developer for over 15 years, with lots of hands on experience of raspberry PI. I am uk based.
