Calculating Volume of Point Cloud

Starting file type is .obj 3D file. This is a point cloud of x,y,z coordinates. The files lists the points as:

v x-coordinate y-coordinate z-coordinate

When I compile the code it should prompt me to choose the .obj file. This file will contain a point cloud of a concave surface.

*File Description:

The file will have a flatish plane in it with a cup in the middle. I need the volume of this cup. This cup will not model a perfect cylinder or a semicircle, it may have an odd shaped surrounding edge, and may have bumps in the base of the hole.

*What the Program Needs to do:

The program should prompt the user to outline the cup to isolate it, and remove all other data. Once all other data is removed the program should interpolate any holes that are in the cup and need to be filled for the volume calculation. Then the program should calculate the volume of the cup. The program should finally plot the 3D data of the cup with a color depth map.

That's it! In a nut shell: Ask user to outline the cup, calculate volume, display the data that was used for the volume calculation.

The files might also have a line that starts with 'vt' or 'f' the program should ignore these lines and just use the lines that start with 'v'
