Research Paper Criteria
Research Paper must write about the legal, ethical, privacy and security considerations of a particular technology service(s), product(s) or case of choice. Researcher should select a topic that is narrow enough to enable them to go into detailed discussion and analysis
Below are ideas to help jump-start the process of choosing paper topics. Keep in mind that these are ideas only and not representative of all types of possible topics.
Drones for personal service delivery (see one company that is doing this)
Neuromorphic computing (see IBM's work in this area)
Real-time satellite surveillance video (see list of select companies doing this)
Wearable technology's implications for health insurance (see Forbes article about health insurance providers' interest in wearable technology)

research paper Should be 15-20 double-spaced pages, which must include an abstract and an annotated bibliography (an annotated bibliography includes a brief summary of each of the sources). See [url removed, login to view] for font and font size conversion to paper length. Note that the paper length requirement includes the abstract but doesn’t include the bibliography. Also note that all components of the paper must be in APA format. It is highly recommended that review the information found at Purdue Online Writing Lab-Writing a Research Paper before beginning their paper in order to understand both the preparation and the structure required for writing a strong research paper.
StoneMile 1 : must submit a 1-2 page (minimum length) detailed outline for the paper, for which they will receive feedback. The outline should include (1) an introduction, sections addressing the (2) legal, (3) ethical, (4) privacy and (5) security considerations of the topic, as applicable, (6) a conclusion, and (7) a preliminary list of resources. Detail is key, so make sure to include all of the sub-points the team intends to cover in each section and explain what is meant by them ( may also include brief paragraph descriptions of these various sub-points).
MileStone 2 : The final paper should include sections addressing (1) to (6) above, as well as (7) the issues purposely not addressed in the paper/ unanswered questions, and why they were not addressed, (8) the limitations of the paper, (9) recommendations for future research if the paper could be longer or if particular conditions were met (state what these might be), and (10) an annotated bibliography, in addition to any other sections the wish to include. Although the order of the structural elements of the paper, such as introduction, abstract, conclusion and bibliography, are set, Researcher may decide where in the main part of the paper it wishes to include the other sections. Make sure to clearly label each separate section, e.g. Ethical Issues and Considerations, Recommendations for Future Research, etc.
