Baker Stuart is deliver a comprehensive range of innovative workplace strategy, transition delivery and project management services to small-medium businesses, major international corporations and public sector clients. As part of our goal to be the leading experts in our field, Baker Stuart conduct regular research into topics of interest to our Clients in the field of workplace design, people (staff) performance and productivity, workplace utilisation and performance.
The research is used to provide insight into the latest ideas to help us improve and develop or service offerings, to help our clients with the latest thinking, insight and ideas in the workplace and prepare material for our website, blogs, white papers and topics for potential seminars to help promote Baker Stuart and the work that we do.
We are looking for a freelance researcher / writer and / or blogger (or a company providing those services cost effectively) to undertake regular research and write both white papers and blogs for us. Initially we will commission one white paper to be researched and written with the view that this becomes a regular ongoing commitment.
The main areas of research would be:
• General research - Research into relevant topics on office design, workplace, HR and people performance. The key aims are to identifytopics of interest for white papers and blogs, obtain useful information and statistics to help position Baker Stuart as experts in the field when talking to clients "golden nuggets", provide interesting material / topics for Client seminars and identify interesting third party articles we can link to on our website as well as keeping us up to date with the latest thinking and trends in both workplace design workplace management and workplace related HR matters
• White Papers - A white paper is an authoritative report or guide that informs readers concisely about a complex issue and presents the issuing body's philosophy on the matter. It is meant to help readers understand an issue, solve a problem, or make a decision. The role will be to researching and write semi academic articles collating, summarising and interpreting (and referencing) academic research, web based research material, case studies and blogs on a particular topic. The intention is to position us as experts in our field, to be seen as talking in a knowledgeable way about the latest topics affecting the workplace. Although placed in our website, the white Papers will also be circulated via twitter and email. They ideally will be circulated widely in the industry and lead to approaches for potential work with new Clients.
• Blogs - We will aslo require the writer to write shorter, less formal articles than our white papers these will take the form of opinion pieces and commentaries on current topics and trends in workplace, workplace related property, HR, education and prop tech sectors
We are looking for ither an experienced freelancer or specialist research and marketing company who can undertake research and write white papers and blogs on an ongoing basis. The ideal Candidate / Company will have the following attributes:
o A good standard of written English - UK English would be preferable
o Access to online academics research papers
o Experience in writing white papers or academic papers and blogs
o Expertise in scouting research both web based and of academic articles
o A proactive approach to research identifying new topics of interest
o Also it would be useful to have experience of how to make the best use of social media to promote articles

We intend this to be a long term commission for the right candidate but will commission one white paper and an asssociated blog initially. Should this be sucessful and to a good standard we will agree a monthly ongoing fee for one white paper, two blogs and regular research each month.
