Write a Report on non performing/ slow moving inventory

5000 word assignment Needs to be done within 5-7 days I have a project outline of: At Solvay in the supply chain/Logistics department, a report is run by me weekly and monthly which monetises the Non Performing Inventory (NPI) /Slow moving obsolete goods (SMOG). The purpose of this activity is to find financially viable solutions to minimise old NPI/SMOG. This is further analysed by categorising the status of the stock, and comments being brought forward from SAP. Once the report is run, as a department, we then look at each item on the report and decide relevant actions to undergo to minimise the value on bad stock we have to meet targets for our site. Due to the fact that we have a difficult target to meet each month, the methods in which we manage our inventory are crucial. Being in a logistics department we are always looking to improve processes that take place to ensure we are always efficient. Based on existing process, I feel there are methods we could use to improve inventory management, to enable us to run this process at an optimum level. The report needs to follow this structure: Introduction: Scope the problem and introduce the context (the company) Methodology: Explain your choice of data collection and approach (case studies, interviews etc.) Literature Review: Provide an outline of literature in the topic area (current knowledge) Findings/Discussion: present your findings and discuss them in relation to current knowledge (literature) Conclusion/Summary: Explain what you have discovered, does your approach agree with current literature, add something new. Bibliography: academic references (avoid web sites if possible) I have also attached an assessment brief which will provide a bit more background to this. I have also attached an exemplar report which may be useful to use as a basis. I need to report written to a high standard, ideally someone with logistics/ operations/ supply chain back ground or experience in writing. I need this report to be achieving 85% and above in the marking scheme. I had began re-writing the project initially, hence one document has red writing in there.
