Title : Industry 4.0 compliancy framework for dynamic warehouse and transport management.
Problem : SME's usually implement industry 4.0 practises in manufacturing; however, don't go the extra step to making their warehousing and transport management as streamline as the rest of the business operations. The old management techniques have various flaws, such as warehouse storage is based in static analysis of material flow. In short term this may be effective, however not effiecent in long term.
Scope : One of the key characteristics of industry 4.0 is big data and analysis. This analysis allows management to see the flow in a more dynamic manner and further use the historical data to manage change for the future. Similarly, use such techniques in transport management to further increase the effiency of inbound and outbound traffic. The idea is to link both warehousing and transport management using simple industry 4.0 techniques that SME's can implement at a significant low cost and as a by-product gets a much better understand of the operations.
1) Use advanced RFID monitoring system and gather material flow data to establish a dynamic model that can be used in a real-time simulation to mimic physical operation in conjunction with virtual manufacturing and understand the physical constraints of manipulating the storage structure.
2) Create a mathematical model for transport management, utilizing historical data and analyzing for potential change for better operational efficiency and cost reduction.
3) Create a virtual simulation of both warehousing and transport working in sync using industry 4.0 practices.
What I need:
I want a well put out research proposal, with a defined problem, scope and aims. Furthermore, a small literature review backing the problems. Feel free to modify the problem and scope if you find any good information while doing the literature review.
