Building a Shopify custom app

Looking to build a custom shopify app, which can scan a product and automatically add it to store inventory(using shopify API). The prouct is a trading game card and by scanning I want to detect the text(product name), add a quantity(our app feature), add the scanned image as product image and update the inventory on shopify.
