Redesign Skin & Change Hosting & Improve Purchasing

Background. We are just about to receive a significant increase in web traffic as we are going to receive some TV free coverage. Because of this, we need to move the website to a Virtual hosting in order for it to cope with the increase in web traffic at a minimum it needs to be able to cope with 5000 concurrent users. Also because of this exposure we need to improve the look and feel / skin of the website and revisit the project improve purchasing funnel. These 3 Projects in total and they are required to be completed, installed and tested and final changes applied by 16th of April. 23nd of April work Starts A. Website has been moved to virtual machine hosting and it is live. All development work is executed on this new hosting service. Project 1 is live and completed by 27th of March. 5th of April – Initial development work has been completed on Project 2 and 3 and the site can be tested by Austin. B. Purchasing funnel has been improved C. Improved skin of the website has been applied 11th of April – Testing has been completed and a Snag list has been supplied by Austin 16th of April – Snag list has been applied and completed and Project 2 and 3 go live. Project 1. – Price Required Stage 1 - Copy current version of live and test websites to a Virtual Linux Machine. Stage 2- Set the live server up immediately on a Virtual Machine Hosting where by it can handle minimum 5000 concurrent users. Once this is setup all testing and development work for Project 2 and 3 work should be executed on the test site within the virtual machine hosting. Project 2. – Price Required Begin work on the test website. Improve the purchasing funnel of the website. Please see attached PDF with the example Click thru Process. Please note now the only available payment on the website is PayPal. It will have to be integrated so that if the pay pal or credit card / laser or both is selected that customers have the choice. Also if the administration tool is used to update the payment method integrated that this is reflected back into the website. VAT calculation needs to be added so when customers are paying for a product that they can see how much is made up of VAT. This VAT calculation needs to be added to the invoice which is created for an order when it purchased and sent to the customer. Please confirm that invoices are being sent correctly. This process should have three / two steps to purchase from the landing page. Landing Page (Click on Product / Buy Now) -> Product (Click on Buy Now) -> Payment Details and Customer information (Submit) Confirmation Page If a new Category is added it must be represented on the home page. So the changes it must be integrated into X-CART. Might be that BUY NOW button and Price input must be available on the admin side when setting up a category. Project 3. – Price Required Improve the Skin of the website. The website should not be as dark. It is key here to work with what we have and make it as easy to make the changes as possible. Design changes will be in an effort to link print/ POS (images will be provided please see attached examples) and online look and feel. The existing online look and feel is too dark and it needs to be lightened up. The existing system is a limiting factor and the focus will be on changing portions of the site's existing elements. The redesign will include an updated homepage layout, how it works layout, redesign of homepage banners and internal buttons and CSS colour changes.
