Looking for someone to deliver a fully functional CartoDB installation on linux. [url removed, login to view]
This can initially be delivered using the Docker image available here: [url removed, login to view] WARNING: This github build is not be as simple as just running the install scripts, if you are not confident in the listed technologies such as ruby, and PostgreSQL do not attempt this project. I will want the server running and to be able to test it by using the APIs, as well as the web interface. To win this project I will ask you to articulate the architecture of the CartoDB platform in your own words.
All of the below specs have to be fulfilled in order to receive payment:
-you will be using the most recent master branch from [url removed, login to view]
-fully functioning webfrontend, as in [url removed, login to view]
-full documentation of workflow / configuration, in markdown format
-full shell script that can recreate and perform the installation and configuration from scratch on Amazon -the whole server stack will run without sudo / root priviledges
-it has to be working with several users,i.e. you will provide a script to create / modify / delete cartodb users (nt: by default the user is tied to the subdomain - so the system will need to be modified)
-app has to fully work in development, staging AND production mode
-start/stop shell scripts, one for each of the three modes: development, staging, production
-server is fully accessible from all clients without any client-side configuration (/etc/hosts or so)
-initially we will get the Docker image running locally, then also install this on AWS
-all scripts and changed files will be uploaded to a bitbucket repo and tested by me
-full documentation will go to bitbucket wiki ie: I would like to be able to re-create this process on a local machine off AWS potentially.
-you will create a new set of git repositories on bitbucket, which contain all code needed to do the flawless full install of cartodb on AWS server, and the above mentioned install script will use those repos automatically. Acceptance Tests I will perform:
- using the web interfaces for uploading and creating maps
- using the http APIs for tiling, and data access
- reviewing the documentation for usability
- installing the ami myself on a new amazon machine
- running the vm in Docker using Docker toolbox, and re-installing the server on a cloud server
- testing the server without an internet connection - downloading the [url removed, login to view] library and using it with the apis
