What is it?
A piece of software that will interact with music streaming sites such as Spotify, Beatport or ITunes. When a tune is made the producer who is then selling it online can then see where in the world the tune is being played by way of an interactive heat map giving the producer valuable location and user feedback. The music listener can also see who is listening to the same music as them i.e. I am listening to Beyonce in London and the heatmap will show me someone in California listening to Beyonce as well. It will show users around the world listening to that particular tune by Beyonce at that time via an interactive heat map. Eventually users will be able to interact with each other on this software around a shared love of a music artist or particular tune.
What are it’s uses?
It will create a more collaborative music world, give music producers visibility over where their music is being played and create a more interactive party scene as clubbers around the world will be able to visually and musically interact with other users around the world listening to the same tune or style of music.
How does it work?
Each tune will have a location services app/ chip built into it.
What would it look like?
Each tablet, mobile and desktop would have a map function which would show where the users are located. The map could change heat as more users play it or as the tune peaks.
What about historical tunes?
There would be an option to show where your current tune is being played interactive with your current Spotify function.
What about genres?
Yes can search by house, tech house, techno, trance, hard house, country, rock.
What about other club nights/ festivals?
It would show you which festivals, club nights this is being played at the same time.
Would there be an interactive comments section?
Yes where users could post comments from their phone or DJ from their set while the tune is being played. Other DJ's or users could write back.
It would be compatible with 3rd party sources?
Yes Beatport, Spotify, Apple, YouTube etc
What are it’s business uses?
For businesses and marketing the user/ location data will be invaluable.
Festival and club promoters around the world would have marketing by way of a common tune being listened to elsewhere and shown elsewhere.
At festivals on big screens DJs would be able to show other DJs around the world playing the same tune. A more collaborative party scene.
For music labels and producers they would have visibility where the tune is being played or in granular detail which part of the tune is being played the most.
