Software designed for United States based Federal Firearms License (FFL) holders. As the manager of a firearms manufacturer I have looked at or used several point of sale and inventory management solutions and found that they all lack what is really needed . Accountability, tracking, and ease of use is needed in the multi billion dollar firearms industry and on a level I have yet to see. As an FFL every firearm that enters a shop for sale, transfer, repair, manufacture, etc must be tracked in detail. Where it came from and where it went. Many aspects in this business are over looked in existing software, two big examples are purchases made in person and purchases made that involve a transfer such as online. If you purchase in person the firearm is disposed of to the purchaser, as soon as the individual passes a background. There are two things involved with this, the purchase date and the transfer date. Just because you purchased it on day "x" does not mean you took possession of it then. The disposition date on the FFL's Acquisition & Disposition (A&D) Book must reflect the date the individual physically picked up the firearm. "Online" purchases are also different. While I may sell firearms in a not "face-to-face" fashion, I cannot mail them to the purchaser. It must be sent to another FFL dealer where the purchaser may take possession after completing the required backgroung check and any other local requirements. In this case I would sell to the purchaser but dispose, on the shipping date, to the FFL dealer that the purchaser requested. Other problems exist on the manufacturing side of the industry, such as when you "build" a firearm. Firearms typically begin life as a frame or receiver. When I acquire such an item it is put into my A&D book as such, however when I turn it into a complete firearm it must be disposed of to myself on the date of manufacture and reacquired as the final product (rifle, pistol, etc). Some things will change, others might change but the serial number will remain the same. Inventory management, retail sales, vendor integration, tiered pricing, credit card integration, work orders, estimates, website integration, customer information, ATF form integration, finger printing integration and much more are all part of this idea. Looking to create with the help of talented individuals a complete solution for FFL holders that satisfies the users needs and the requirements. Per ATF guidelines this software cannot be cloud based.
