Project Description

We are developing an application that pulls data from LinkedIn and Facebook and allows user to see connections/friends and assign a 0/1 to 10 properties. We are looking for a backend developer who can use Facebook and LinkedIn APIs (emphasis on LinkedIn) top pull this information and store user responses in the database. Below are the requirements and workflow as outlined by front-end development team.

App Skills required - iOS, CoreData, Storyboards

Server Skills - RESTful apis with json responses, OAuth 1 or 2, scalable architecture (language and platform is your choice)

Helpful Skills - In-depth experience with LinkedIn APIs & Facebook APIs

System description and workflow:

Server maintains a model that closely matches linked in's user model, but augments the data with 10 additional properties per user.

1) App makes various requests to server, which makes requests to LinkedIn

2) Before responding to the App with a json feed, the Server inserts or updates records internally

3) App processes json feed, which includes the 10 additional properties, and displays results

The json feed provided to the App does not need to match the feed provided by LinkedIn. The Server should also be able to handle invalid LinkedIn authorization for any request, and require the App to re-authenticate.

The App will have approximately 4 screens, which display a LinkedIn login, the successfully logged in user, their connections, and the 10 additional properties for the user and his/her connections. The app must also have the ability to update the 10 properties for any of the user's connections and report to the server. Note that this means, for any given user in the model, the Server must be able to differentiate the 10 properties assigned by one connection from the 10 properties assigned by another connection, so that properties may be adjusted by a user at any point.
