Hello,
I am a professional structural engineer with 6 years' experience and two master's degrees in structural engineering and earthquake engineering.
I've looked at the attached connection, and I think there're some problems with the configuration of that connection. The first is its implementation in Idea Statica. This program has predefined configurations, and yours is none of them. The second problem has to do with its behavior. I think the vertical plate connecting the column and the beam from the outside can easily be subjected to flexural failure from the relative rotation of the beam to the column. And honestly I've never seen such a moment connection before. Normally, the plate on top of the column is extended outwardly, and there should be two of them, one is connected to the top of the column and the other to the bottom of the beam, and they get bolted together. This particular connection can be modeled in another program called "RAM connection".
If you want further discussion, feel free to dm me.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Abdelrahman
