Repair smtp authentication for existing linux server
Budget $30-250 USD
We currently have an older sendmail email server running under FC3, and has been completely operational for several years without incident. Recently the spamassassin stopped working, as did the procmail scripts some people were using.
After looking info issue, attempts were made to upgrade and also reinstall spamassassin and sendmail. The configurations files were restored, and all functionality seems to work except the smtp authentication. Users can send mail using Squirrelmail, however they can no longer send using an email client such as Outlook. It is my belief the solution should be simple, however I am unaware of what it is.
For the purpose of the project, I would like the following:
1. Restore the ability for external clients to send using smtp authentication
2. Some documentation explaining how to resolve this problem
