I have a Mac Mini (2.6GHz, 4 RAM) with OS X Snow Leopard Server that I want to use it for the following tasks:
- DNS server - I have a domain purchased and pointing to the IP now - Just need the DNS setup to work correctly
- NAS for my local network
- VPN to be able to access the files remotely and use remote desktop to access Windows Computers in network
- Calendar and Address Book Sharing
- OPTIONAL but would be nice to have - User Management for Windows and Mac Authentication
*The Firewall will need to be configured as well to protect the internal network while allowing all the needed services through
This Mac Mini is behind an Actiontek PK5000 modem/router, and has a block of 8 static IP's available to it, and the modem/router is acting as the DHCP and NAT for the network, but otherwise has the Mac in a DMZ zone. The modem may need to be configured better but I will have to take your advice on that.
The person who will help me will do this by Screen Sharing option (or I'm open to other suggestions) and it shouldn't take more than a few hours.
I have tried to configure this myself, and may have caused more damage then anything.
Please ask as many questions as you feel the need to to get a better understanding of this project.
