Hello, I need various assistance to configure a Windows Server 2008.
1. Configure Windows Update Server. I have already installed it. I want all clients to obtain updates from our server instead of going to Microsoft each time. Our clients are Win XP and Vista only. Provide me an instruction worksheet on how I then configure my clients to download updates from our Win server as opposed to Microsoft.
2. Install and configure Mdaemon Email. There is a free evaluation for 30 days. I have around 20 users. I want it such that Mdaemon simply obtains POP email from our existing POP server and stores it on our Wins 2008 machine. Then my users will simply connect to Mdaemon and pick up email.
3. Lock down our Wins 2008 server. Only traffic allowable is web and email. Configure so no user can install any applications. We have a web proxy server from Symantec. Configure IE and Firefox so all web traffic is via proxy and nobody can delete the proxy.
4. We have an application called PIMACS. It installs and works on Win XP fine. Installation on Wins 2008 Server yields all sorts of errors. Strange as Wins 2008 has a compatibility mode. I will provide the install files. I'd like the winning freelancer to successfully install PIMACS on the Wins 2008 or tell me why its impossible to install and what the original developer must change for it to work.
