I am looking to backup a large directory (3TB+) offsite (FTP,rsync etc) to another server, both Windows. My requirements are that I need to have an exact mirror in case of failover scenarios. (Waiting to restore 3TB over a WAN connection is just not an option) BUT I also need the ability to recover from accidental deletions, hence the need for archiving. Ideally I would simply like to select a different folder that deletions get moved to rather than deleted. Bonus points if retention can be set on those files and automatically deleted after X days but not required. Also anything that can be do CDP or close is another bonus but not required.
SuperFlexible File Synchronizer actually comes very close to meeting these needs but am currently battling with it for various reasons so am looking for better suggestions. The data can not be stored an a database or any proprietary compression format etc, as noted the data needs to be an exact mirror.
Recommendation can be software, free or paid doesn't matter or can be a script. As long as it runs on Windows and gets the job done.
Thanks, let me know if you clarification is necessary.
