Hello! Based on this article I'd like a spot instance ec2 setup most of the specs are the same as this article . . This should use the community ec2 gaming instance on a 2.2xlarge on spot instances so it should only be 30-50 cents per hours, the basic ebs of 35gb. Security group setup just like the article too opening ports for ease of the vpn. You'll need to install the graphics hardware like the article and ensure games use that not the onboard graphics. Need to ensure ebs drive stores the games and state perfectly as this is a spot instance and will be terminated and destroyed each use. Z: should be mainly used like the article suggests. Steam streaming setup. Open vpn setup so you can be on the same network to use steam streaming. After test latency and framerate and aim for sub 50ms.
Let me know if you'd like a fun and interesting project. Estimate is 1-4 hours setting up ec2, 1-3 hours for configuration of drivers and open vpn. 1-3 hours for steam install and installing newest counter strike and conquerers blade. 1-3 hours testing games and changing settings recommended in articles for lowering latency and increasing framerate.
When done document simple process using shell scripts to start and stop instance simply and using steam link to access game.
This is just for fun so, when done I'm fine if you want to cl one the AMI to use for yourself for gaming or friends :)
