writing a literature review on determining the existence of phenolic compound in dried and fresh banana leaves

This study is used to extract the phenolic compound from the banana leaves of pisang kapas and pisang berangan. Both of these species are chosen because they are commonly found and used in Malaysia. There are two types of species that are used in this study. There are banana leaves of pisang kapas and pisang berangan.

This study is carried out under two conditions which are drying and without drying. For drying process, the temperature used are 60°C and 105°C at constant time for six hours (Takashi Yaganida, 2003). The solvents used are ethanol and acetone. The final sample of extraction is tested by using UV-visible spectrometer (UV-vis).
