Need to research, plan and compile an advice manual for mine site workers who are fatiguing during their 7 week on,
3 week off job rotation. Specifically, advice on how to keep workers in shape for 7 weeks through a combination of diet, exercise and stretches. Aiming for min 50 pages with good design and plenty of pictures.
Diet - Foods to have and foods to avoid. Consider active employees (ie. those in the field ) vs those at a desk for between 12-15 hours a day. Include sample diets.
Exercise - A series of exercises to do (plus pictures) on waking, mid morning, after work and prior to sleeping. Good mix of stretches, postural strengtheners and aerobic workouts, incorporating hills (which are plentiful in the region). 7 week progressive conditioning program would be ideal. No access to gym or equipment.
Rehabiliation - Factor in a remote region and no access to allied health professionals. Target Top 5-10 occupational injuries resulting from prolonged sitting duties and target specific stretches/injury management ideas to ease pain. Main focus on stiffness of the upper neck with pain radiating down the arm. Rest is not an option.
Booklet/Manual must be comprehensive, referenced and user friendly. Please also incorporate a list of useful websites, weblinks, downloadable interactive e programs if possible.
First step would be to formulate a draft/shell of the document so content can be agreed on.
