3D rigging / animation of excavator arm in Cinema4D

Hi guys, your job in Cinema4D v12 is to take a highly detailled model of an excavator arm and do the (mechanical) rigging of the arm, i.e. prepare it for animation as follows:

The excavator arm (consists of approx. 3.5 k objects / but many of them are hidden inside the hull and) has three "multi-axis pairs" (see sketch B) which need to be fluidly animatable by "float sliders" (shown in the view panel and ready for easy dragging to adjust it). Note that each slider must control the expansion of one "compressed air tube" and thus the rotation of a pair of multiple axis as well as the logical bending of some flexible cables.

IMPORTANT: We need precision for this job to render correct close-ups of the model later on. After you get the job we need to see an intermediate result which has to include a single slider that allows to either animate "pair 1" at the lower part (with tube, axis and flexible cables or "pair 2" instead, as you like). If that work is done, we will give clearance for the rest of the job.

In order to animate the excavator arm, your skills must include:

+ (re-)grouping of elements for rigging/animation (which may be a lot in this model / some of them are grouped already)

+ define (mechanical) animation groups where the expansion (movement) of tubes influences the orientation (rotation) of axis

+ create 3 "float sliders" to allow easy adjustment of the animations for each of the 3 pairs (between two extremes)

+ ca. 24 polygon cables (see grey cables in the screenshots) must be replaced (by sweep NURBS) that bend (self-controlled) according to the changing positions and orientations of their fixed connectors.

Also included is a very simple polygon healing/repair job (which has nothing to do with the rigging):

+ There's one extra polygon group (see sample F) from another part of the model that needs to be repaired in the corners

Take care that you don't delete (only hide) polygons that never see the sun (one don't know if they come in handy later on for X-ray images etc.). You must achieve your results in less than 5 working days (including dialogue, if you have any questions.). You have to deliver us the model ready for animation as specified.
