My project is going to revolve around illustrating the inner earth with processes and different layers in 3D using real data, both general visualizations of the most common processes and layers, but also dig deep into certain areas to give a higher resolution of a small area. The data is mainly in 1x1° with depth being the third axis so a 360x360x360 grid is minimum, though a 3600x3600x3600 grid is preferable to be able to input higher resolution data.
Due to the fact that all my data is longitude-latitude-depth it is necessary to convert the longitude-latitude-depth to spherical coordinates in order for it to be correctly visualized in the sphere.
Think a database visualized like Google Earth for scientists to be shared and compared seamlessly in 3D. It is important that i can be able to navigate inside the model Earth, hence the interactive part. The data comes in xlsx, CSV, or a format that these can be converted to.
I would prefer it to be written in Python, since i would like to be able to edit and work further with this myself.
