This next technique I’m going to offer you on how to put love into practice is motivated by this quotation, this thought from Mother Theresa, and she said, ‘Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.’ I call this technique ‘giving a hundred percent of yourself’. In all the executive programs in Columbia MBA teachings that I am privileged to do, this technique stands out as the one that has been most broadly received by the participants known as the executives. And so, I’m hopeful that it can have vast and broad and deep value and impact in your life as well. Giving a hundred percent of yourself. Giving a hundred percent of yourself is the notion that in all interactions, you want to be in the position to give a hundred percent. And by giving a hundred percent, I mean
a. That you are fully, mindfully engaged, you are undistracted by other things, and fully present there, to be able to connect with the other party.
b. That you are not just there to further your agenda, to pursue your goals, but you're also there to tune in to the agenda, the needs, the aspirations of the other party.
c. That you seek in some ways to be of service to the other party in that interaction.
