We are looking for a language teacher who can write a series of language lessons for a public language wiki site.
The site hosts free language lessons in the form of podcasts, but needs some initial content to start growing. The lessons should be teaching English to Spanish speakers. format should target around 15-20 minutes per podcast, and about 80 podcasts, i.e. a total of about 20-25hrs of podcasts at a minimum.
== Content and format ==
Content should be aimed at beginners visiting an English speaking country, and should cover at least the following topics:
- greetings and introductions (family situation, etc...)
- talking about locations, finding one's way, etc... (where?)
- talking about time, dates, before/after... (when?)
- describing oneself, occupation, hobbies... and asking for similar details
- restaurants: ordering food and drinks, paying the bill...
- hotels: booking, checking in & out, paying...
- travelling by bus/train/plane/taxi
Extra written pages (no audio for these) should cover grammar topics.
The lesson series should be organised so that it can be used in a sequence, each lesson building upon what was taught in the previous ones.
Please note we are not looking for an audio phrasebook, but an actual course at the end of which the student should be able to speak decently about the above topics.
Content includes both text for the script of the podcasts, and sound recordings.
All the content should be ready to input in the site, including text and audio recordings. For this purpose, audio should be recorded as one file per sentence (matching the text content) in wav, ogg, or mp3 format.
Suggested format for a lesson would be:
- a short dialogue/conversation in English
- explanations for the conversation, highlighting new words and expressions (in Spanish for the first lesson, and progressively switching to English as the student progresses)
- oral drills and exercises asking the student to repeat and reuse vocabulary/structures in new ways.
Grammar should be limited to a minimum in audio lessons, and be covered in written lessons.
An example could be Pimsleur language lessons, or something similar.

== Language ==
The lessons should teach standard English (British or American). Specific variations (for instance typically Australian expressions) are acceptable (though best avoided in early lessons) if the more standard expression is taught as well, and the difference is highlighted in the lesson.
Sounds recorded must be by a native speaker with a fairly neutral accent, especially in the taught language (English). Strong regional accents are not acceptable.
The recorded sounds should be spoken at a rhythm compatible with teaching a beginner student, and be clear enough (no background noise that impairs understanding).
