Collect users address book contacts from common email providers

The goal of the project is to be able to import a users address book contacts from service providers like Google, Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, Aol, and possibly others.

The project would be complete, when a user could via a web browser select their address book service provider, be guided through authentication with that provider using oauth, IMAP, CardDav, or other means if needed, to grant the app access to their address book and contacts. All contacts names, phone numbers, picture, email addresses and physical addresses would then be extracted from the service and stored in an application database in a common format. The application should then provide a web-service making the contacts searchable by name. Making geographic radius search based on physical address would be a bonus.

Similar workflows and user experiences for importing contacts can be seen in web apps like Gmail and could be used for reference in the implementation.

Work to date on other parts of this application has been done in python 3 using the flask framework. We are open to other implementations if a clear path for integration into the application is described.

We will describe milestones and checkpoints during the development process to provide incremental payment for delivery of subsets of features.
